smoke weed, get fired.

this morning at work, this one guy i work with told me they fired him. well, his last day is going to be this saturday. i can’t say i didn’t see it coming. i wasn’t really surprised when he told me to be honest. i still feel bad though, just like any human being, i do have compassion, and he was a work friend. someone making work a little bit more entertaining. there was a problem though, he was a “pothead”. he would smoke before coming to work too. which was the worst part. people are allowed to smoke, yes. it’s a life choice, just like any other thing. but when it is done without respect, then it affects other people too. and what’s worse than behaving immaturely in front of your own employer? he wasn’t very responsible either, he’d just leave for half hours once in a while, and he’d come back. no one would know where he’d gone. he’d take an hour of break, when he was allowed thirty. he’d take an hour and a half, when he was allowed an hour. and thirty minutes when he was given fifteen. or he’d say hi to you five times a day, and each time ask how you’re doing, and “what’s up” and then say “okay well. bye. take care. okay. take care man. see ya”. never heard of a sober person acting like that. so he made it obvious after a while. especially when he’d just fall asleep in the middle of the work room. and other employees would have to go and tell him to wake the F up. or when he’d say out loud how he’s “way too high for work, and shouldn’t have smoked”.

so why am i telling you all about this? well, about three hours after he told me he got fired, my manager came up to me, and let me know that my hours would be going way up next week. one man’s loss is another man’s gain. it’s how life works. and i can’t tell you how happy i am about my hours going up. i only had 22 hours a week or so, which is pretty awful when you’re not going to school at the same time. (i took a year off after graduating dawson, and i’ll be going to university in toronto in the fall) so yeah, the main reason i got the job is to save more money for school. university isn’t cheap, nor are apartments in toronto. but i’m excited. adventures are what make life more fun, and it definitely will be one!

i’ve posted a new picture on my deviantart. you can check it out by clicking here. it’s another one from the photoshoot i did with Sandrine. it’s personally my favorite picture i’ve taken in a very long while. i will be posting the pictures from my photoshoot with my friend Alex very soon too. i styled him with a crazy orange blazer, and he brought his red/orange vintage bike to the shoot so we used it! we didn’t get to do much, because of the sudden snowfall, but i think i still managed to get a few decent pictures! i’ll keep posting on deviantart, almost everyday, for the next few weeks. i’ve managed to do it for about a week by now. so it shouldn’t be too hard to just keep it up! so you can always check back once in a while, and let me know what you think of my work! i always try to improve, so comments are well appreciated.

i just posted this new picture on my lookbook! you can check it out by clicking here. it was definitely a pain to take it, but i think it was worth it! i’m happy with the final result. so the story is my friend and i were planning on taking pictures yesterday. before the shoot we went to eat at this one chinese buffet, took forever, and once we walked out of it… there pretty much was a snowstorm outside! and it’s been over 10 degrees celsius for the past three weeks! honestly… just my luck. so we froze to death, but still took pictures. i was scared that the snow would make the pictures look ridiculous, but it actually looks like rain drops or something, so it’s all good! the picture was also posted on my deviantart here. and if you do check out my deviantart, you will notice that i added another picture from the photoshoot i did with sandrine!

i’d also like to thank all of you for the feedback on the new design. i really appreciate it! it’s really relieving to know you like it, as it was a lot of work! coding and such can be such a pain. and just as a reminder, if ever you weren’t able to comment on my posts in the past, you should be able to do it now. i tried to fix it, and some people told me they’re now able to comment! so give it a try!

eight degrees celsius.

i’m sorry if the website was down for a little white, i had issues with my previous host (he decided to cancel his server, thus i lost my website) and had to find a new host. it’s crazy how expensive and complicated having a website is, most people have no idea, but yes, you do have to pay for hosting. and domain names. and all kind of other things!

i’ve been taking a lot of pictures lately, which can be seen on my deviantart. mainly studio shots. it’s still pretty cold outside! but it’s getting warmer. spring’s on its way! proof? people are already wearing shorts and t-shirts! how crazy! it’s barely 8 degrees celsius out. i wonder what they’re gonna wear when it’s gonna be 40 in the summer…. or what kind of a throat/sinus infection/cold they’ll get. but it is getting warm enough to start taking pictures outside again. i have a shoot planned today! and hopefully everything will go according to plans. it looks cloudy out, and let’s hope it won’t rain.

i’m obsessed with the new album of Broken Bells. such refreshing music. you should check it out if you haven’t yet. i also suggest you to check out the new album of Angus & Julia Stone; Down The Way. they definitely just keep getting better. so it’s worth a listen. especially if you’re the kind of person who’s always hungry for new music. i know i am! it’s an addiction.
