i know all about politics, trust me..
my inspiration behind this picture is our generation, and mainly the country i live in, Canada. i personally find that the young generation doesn’t know much about politics, and if any do know a lot about it; they’re a minority, a very poor percentage of the population. then some people only know about political news because they hear about it from their favorite celebrities. and sadly, i’d have to classify myself in the “politics? what is that?” category as well. of course i do know a few things, i’m not clueless, i read the papers whenever i take the subway, but i still feel like i know more about the politics of the U.S.A & other countries than my own country, mainly because even in our own papers the political news from other countries are more talked about than ours. and then i wonder, is ours just not as important? is it us being ignorant to our own country? is it the fact that our country works with governments rather than a president? and we’re even often referred to as “america’s hat” making us sound useless in every way. it sounds rather hilarious when you first hear it, but honestly, it’s more depressing than anything.
and that is my point, if it made any sense, thank you for listening.

first day of work!.
i had my first day of work on sunday, it went well. i was a little nervous because when i first got there on sunday the person who was in charge of the department i’m working in didn’t have any idea where i was supposed to be working… my name wasn’t on any schedule, and such. so it was definitely a little confusing and nerve wrecking. the lady who first took care of me was nice though, she showed me around the store (well, the men’s floor) and ended up teaming me with this man at a cash just so he can show me how it works and all. honestly, working a cash seems like the hardest thing in the world to me, and when there are sales and problems and refunds and a lineup of like twenty people… i can’t imagine how hard and annoying it must be, but then the person who hired me got there, and she told me where i was supposed to be. fitting rooms! i was relieved. so my job is pretty much to count how many items people have and then assign them a fitting room. i also need to be a “runner” which is the person who places the stuff from the fitting rooms back into the store. and that was hard! i had absolutely no idea where anything went, but by the end of the day i was getting used to it. i guess you learn with time, same with questions that customers ask you. at some point a man asked me for a “sport corduroy jacket” and in my head it didn’t make sense at all. i was trying to picture a sport jacket… made out of corduroy… and it didn’t really work out. i just stared blankly at him, and didn’t know what to say. i think he kinda noticed i had no idea what he was talking about after a while because he just left and asked someone else instead. later i realized that maybe he meant a corduroy blazer, but just didn’t use the right words. oh well. it was my first day, i can’t know everything! what else happened… oh yes, while i was placing some jeans back on the floor a man asked me questions in spanish… and i had no idea what he was talking about. i did have a few spanish classes in highschool, but that doesn’t really make you fluent in spanish for anything. so again i just stared blankly, and didn’t really know what to say. and he kept saying things. i tried to help him… i figured at some point that he was asking me whether the jeans he was holding were on sale or not. but then, how could he understand my answer if he only speaks spanish. i don’t know. but i’ll have to prepare myself for that, montreal is a hugely touristic city. and then store i work in is huge and almost considered a touristic attraction. i guess kinda the way saks fifth avenue is in nyc.
but yeah, first day went well! time passed by really fast which is probably a good sign. i’m only working again on thursday, so i have a few days off. my manager didn’t know my availabilities so she didn’t give me much hours when she made my schedule for this week. and then i work saturday. she said she might schedule me for friday too, if anything, but i’d need to ask her again to find out.
i don’t have any plans for today, well i do… but they aren’t confirmed. i’m supposed to hang out with my friend Yenny, and help her re-size this one dress she bought for halloween. we were also planning on checking out a few thrift stores just so i can find something for halloween too, it’s only a few days away, isn’t it crazy! i feel like it was september, just yesterday, and now november is barely a week away.
above this post is a painting i did a while ago, but hadn’t posted it anywhere until now. i think i’ve talked to you about it in a blog post before; i couldn’t sleep one day so i just randomly decided to do a painting, and this is what came out of it. you can check out on larger version of the painting on my deviantart by clicking here!

okay, so this was my life according to the killers. now waiting to see what yours turn out like. i work at 5pm again tomorrow, and at first i loved the idea, but now i’m not too sure anymore. all i did today was wait for 4pm just so i could get ready and go to work. maybe i’ll find something more productive to do tomorrow before work, like finding black dress pants, which is part of our dress code at work. good luck to me, i hate wearing dress pants.
