2 days before my birthday!.

my birthday is in two days! you’re probably so annoyed by me pointing out how many days are left until my birthday every single time, but what can you do, i’m excited about it, and i feel the need to mention it. i usually don’t have birthday parties cause i always thought of them as overrated, but now i kind of realize how stupid i was. my mom is getting me a cheesecake for my birthday, it’s this one amazing cheesecake from a bakery called Premiere Moisson here. it’s seriously the best cheesecake i’ve had in my life, and trust me, i had many! i even tried that apparently “delicious” one from the cheesecake factory in california, and it definitely failed to impress. and that nutmeg taste in it almost made me puke. who the hell uses nutmeg in cheesecake. and also, sandrine is insisting on buying me a pajama for my birthday. i’m not a very big pajama person, i don’t even think i ever had one. okay maybe i did, one of those spiderman/cartoon pajamas for kids when i was five years old, but other than that, i don’t believe i ever had one. and i already got the gift from my parents a while ago, it was furniture for my room. a large wardrobe and one of those leather storage/bench thing that you place at the end of your bed. i was too impatient, and asked for them a month ago! but i guess i’m getting the cheesecake! and they’re getting us Ferrari Rose champagne for the pre-party at the hotel too. and i couldn’t resist but buy a lot of stupid birthday things at this one cheap store by my school. balloons, funny hats, etc. i can’t wait!

sandrine gave me an idea too, she said we should make a video when we’re at the hotel. or film a lot of footage from my birthday, and then just put it together and make a video for my youtube. i haven’t had a video in forever! but don’t blame me, i was just super busy with school these past months! but i’m done now! so exciting. i had my last summer class yesterday! graduating soon!

i added a new picture in the gallery, you can check it out by clicking on the thumbnail at the end of the post. and yes, i put one of my piercings back a few days ago. i was bored, and decided to try one of the holes to see whether they’d work or not. i took them out over two years ago, so it was definitely a surprise to me that it worked. i did have to push hard through a thin layer of skin (gross) but it worked. the barbell that i am using, or whatever you call it, is fairly small, so i like it. it’s subtle. i might keep it in for a while. it’s the one that my sister used to have for her monroe piercing.

i posted a new look on my lookbook. you can view it by clicking here. first one in a very long while! i cut the tank top myself (it used to be a t-shirt, and it was weird fitting) and i borrowed the blazer from a friend. i guess it’s a pretty basic and simple look once again, but that’s just what i like. i doubt i’ll ever be caught dead wearing ridiculous things like lady gaga! and i’m not judging her, i think it’s cool. but i personally wouldn’t like it. wouldn’t find it comfortable or any fun.

i’m going to see (500) days of summer later tonight, i am so so so excited.

here is another picture from the series! to be honest, this is one of my favorite pictures i have ever taken. it’s just really different, and Justyna is definitely a great model! you can check it out on deviantart by clicking here. i’m really happy with how the work on my photography portfolio is going so far, except one thing. i was planning on buying a presentation portfolio today, and i looked online at a few stores, and apparently large sized ones are pretty rare, and i haven’t found one over 11 inches by 17. my prints are 12 by 18. seriously, how unlucky am i? i was considering cutting a inch on each side, but then i feel it would take away from the photograph. i hate re-framing my pictures, i like them to be exactly the way they were taken in the first place. so… i don’t know what i’m going to do. if worse come to worse, i’ll have to find a larger one, and i think the next ones available are over 20 inches wide, and just have my prints centered in the sleeves. the annoying thing is those presentation portfolios are so expansive to start with, the 11 by 17 one is $95. how ridiculous is that?

i have another photoshoot later today. except this time i’m the model! my friend who’s going to Parson into photography next year needs to work on his portfolio as well and he asked me if i’d like to model for him today. he wants to do something very urban, if i understood right. so we’re probably going to do the shoot in montreal’s business district. i hope it won’t be too busy. i hate when people watch you while you have your picture taken. it’s one of the most awkward things in the world.

here’s another picture from the photoshoot i did a few days ago with Justyna. you’ll notice that it’s very different from the pictures posted yesterday, i wanted to do something a little bit more grungy, and colorful. i know.. a lot of you think that graffiti pictures are way over, and super cheesy, but i do feel like it works well for this picture. her pale skin really stands out against the dark background, and her colorful outfit works with the graffiti. or maybe that’s just me! you can check out the bigger version of the picture on my deviantart by clicking here, or you can always check it out on the gallery here by clicking on the thumbnail at the end of the post!

today i went to this amazing computer store with my dad, and bought myself a graphic tablet!!! it’s so exciting, i’ve been wanting one for the longest time but they’re quite pricey, so i waited a while to make sure i really wanted/needed one. the one i got is the Wacom intuos professional pen tablet, and it works very well. i haven’t had a chance to do much with it yet considering the fact that i got it just a few hours ago, but i did do a few sketches on illustrator, and it’s so cool. i doubt i’ll be using paper again to draw in the future… ok, that’s pushing it a bit too far, but honestly, that’s how cool it is. and if you don’t know what a graphic tablet is, well you have this one rectangle thing, and it comes with a pen, and a mouse sometimes too, mine did, and you just draw on it, like you’d do on a piece of paper, and it will appear on your computer. well you have to use a software, like photoshop, illustrator, or any other graphic design software though. but i think you can also just write notes, and do all kind of other things. i guess i’ll find out as i use it!

i printed the first half of my photography portfolio on 12″ by 18″ photo paper at costco, and i need to go pick it up soon! but make sure to check back in the next few days, cause as i said before, lots of new pictures coming soon!
