vogue paris, s’il vous plaît ?.

my beloved scarlett johansson is gracing the cover of the april issue of vogue paris. i walked by a newstand, and saw it. there was nothing i could do but get it! she’s such a natural, you can’t hate her. well of course, some people can, jealous people can hate anyone and everyone! but to go back to what i was talking about, i’ve never been a big fan of vogue US, and never bought vogue paris before because it’s super expensive. vogue US looks cheap, from the outside like the inside. the CELEBRITIES who grace the cover each month are usually promoting a movie, so not usually cause they’re actually interesting in any way. and the photography is of course, always done by annie leibowitz. don’t get me wrong, she is good. that’s why everybody knows about her, but her photographs, on the cover of both vogue and vanity fair basically every month are getting a bit redundant. there are so many photographers out there, as or even more talented than she is. why not use them? well, in america, it’s all about business you know. there’s usually no substance, and it’s sad. even though i never bought vogue paris before i often see the covers online, and they actually use models, and if they do use a celebrity, it’s cause they’ve got an amazing style and personality. i never really got to look inside one until now though. and i surely was surprised. every page looks like a masterpiece. the way it’s done kinda reminds me of nylon magazine. you’ve probably bought it before, you know how every page looks carefully done. it kinda looks like a scrapbook. and the use of words is awesome. It all sounds so poetic. ok, maybe it only sounds poetic cause it’s in french. and i’m french, so i understand, it’s all okay. i don’t buy it just to look at the pictures! anyway, i won’t go too deep into the subject, but i was just surprised to see how different the paris version is different from the US one. i don’t regret spending ten dollars on it is all i’m trying to say. oh, and it also makes me wanna visit paris.

i had an appointment to get contacts yesterday (it bugs me to wear my glasses) and the eye doctor was about 45 minutes late. so while i was waiting for her i went shopping. the place was downtown, so why not. and i bought a t-shirt and a hoody. the t-shirt was on sale for ten dollars, what a bargain! wait, it’s kinda too big for me though, and it looks a little boring. but i love the color, and the material, and the neck. so i’m gonna try to do something out of it. the hoody was a little bit more expensive, but it was also on sale. it’s diesel. it was like seventy dollars, and the original price was three hundred. so i thought too, what a bargain! and got it. but i think i’m gonna return it. it was a stupid buy. let me show it to you, and explain why so:

this is what it looks like. sorry about the shitty picture. i’m using my webcam. but you get the main idea. it’s yellow, and kinda big. i look like a fatter version of tweety bird with it. i’m gonna take it back to the store tomorrow. it was a great bargain, indeed, but doesn’t look super nice on me! and this is the t-shirt:

it’s not THAT big, but i definitely need to resize it a little bit. i don’t know yet whether i’m gonna keep the sleeves, or make it a tank top. but today is the last day of april. crazy, huh! summer is coming so soon, so maybe a tank top, but we’ll see. i’ll post a picture of what i did to it once i get it done. so in a few days, or maybe a few weeks… sometimes i just forget about things.

and to go back to the eye doctor story (sorry i’m a little bit all over the place), well she was acting very unprofessional. whenever i’d ask her a question about the contacts or my eyes, she’d look at me as if i was dumb. i even wonder if she gave me the right contacts… i wore them the past three days, and i feel like i can see better without them. and it’s not like i went to some ghetto place to get them. i actually went to some nice place. annoying.

oh, and i’m sorry if i haven’t posted in a little while. you’re probably tired to hear this, but i’ve been busy with school! and it’s okay, i’m graduating soon, and you won’t hear about me being busy with school ever again! happy now?

don’t wake me up !.

ahh, i just woke up and i feel like i’ve been punched on the back of my head. i hate when someone or something wakes me up, it feels horrible. it’s like you’re still supposed to be in your dream, but you’re back to real life.. so your mind is all messed up, and your head hurts. someone was at the door, and seriously rang the bell like five times. and there was a wait of about two seconds between each times. but the good news is it was my package that finally came ! what package ? well, something i bought on ebay, of course ! it’s so much fun to buy on ebay, you find things you don’t find in stores, and it’s usually super cheap. i bought a case for the netbook i bought two weeks ago. all the ones they sell in stores are super ugly. and if you don’t know what netbooks are, well they’re those tiny new computers that are usually 9 to 10 inches wide only. i was in california at a bestbuy when i saw the coolest one ever. i just had to get it. and they’re super cheap too. but be careful, some brands sell very tacky and bad ones. you’re probably like ” why isn’t he just telling us which one he bought ? ” well, i’d just feel weird doing free advertisement for a company to be honest. but i’m sure you’ll figure out which one looks best, inside like outside. and you know how you have about 14 days to take something back to bestbuy, well at first i really thought i was gonna hate it. especially since i already do have some big hp laptop from two years ago in addition to my imac. and i get so annoyed with the hp laptop, it’s weights so much, it was super expensive, the fan is super loud, etc. so i barely ever use it, and never bring it anywhere. but the new laptop ? A WHOLE NEW STORY. it doesn’t get hot, it doesn’t make any noise, although it only has 1 gig of memory it’s still super fast, it’s very light.. i don’t even realize it’s in my messenger back when i carry it around. so if you didn’t guess already, i decided to keep it, which is why in the first place that i told you i got a case for it, right? makes sense. i’m predictable sometimes. i should never write a detective story. there’d be no mysteries! and if i’m not predictable enough, the case color is light grey… don’t judge me, i just really like grey!

enough bullshit about computers and such. last night i finally got to watch grey gardens (yeah.. it took a while, i don’t have HBO where i live) so i had to find some other way to see it. THE MOVIE WAS SO GOOD. i think it’s one of the best movies i’ve seen. and it makes the movie so much more sad when you know that everything really is based on a true story. it’s heartbreaking. drew barrymore really is brilliant in it. her role in grey gardens really made me gain some new kind of respect for her acting talents. it just really makes me annoyed that the movie wasn’t released in theaters, and won’t be able to win oscars. i’m sure it would’ve done so good, and it would definitely have won some awards. but i heard tv movies can’t win oscars ? oh well. next time maybe. it just sucks though cause she’s never even been nominated for an oscar, nor won a golden globe. and this role could’ve finally been her chance…

i had a painting due on thursday morning, and i started working on it on wednesday at 10pm. well it’s not that i really am that much of a proscratinator, but i wanted to go see the haunting in connecticut that night. and my family was gonna pay for my sister and i. who says no to that ? and we only got back home around 10. the movie was really, really good though, so it was worth it. don’t go see it if you get scared easily! but yeah, i only started my painting at 10, and worked on it non stop until midnight ! and i hated it before i went to bed. i was so scared to hand it in the next day. but then i wake up, and i think ” i really painted that? what the hell… ” it was weird. i actually liked it when i woke up. i don’t even paint that often, i think this is the second painting i have ever completed, so i was a little surprised of the final result. it’s for my movie class, we had to do a creative project inspired by one of the movies we watched in class during the semester, and i chose sunset blvd (1950). her face was just priceless throughout the whole movie, especially the last scene when she finds out the truth. and as i said before, i’m no professional painter, so please don’t be harsh with your comments on the painting? but i do appreciate constructive criticism !

wine pairing.

i’ve been cleaning up my room for the past two hours, and i’m not even done yet! it’s ridiculous. nooo, my room wasn’t actually “dirty”, just had a lot of stuff everywhere. you know when you get home from somewhere, you just empty your bag on your floor, and never end up cleaning it. and then the same thing happens the next day, and the next day. and in the end you end up with a pretty big pile of random stuff in the center of your room!

i finally did my chemistry of wine making oral presentation yesterday, and oh my god. i feel like i did terrible, i was so nervous i don’t even know what exactly came out of my mouth, i can’t remember. good thing i had a beautifully done powerpoint presentation to take the attention away from my words. i guess i did read the whole presentation, so i doubt it was that bad, but i was kinda trying to add a few words from time to time to make it subtle.. i doubt it did any good though. i probably sounded something like ” you should never stress over … things… pairing.. the wine .. and your food. because…. it has been said… that.. the wine and the food…. the best pairings are … good food, and.. the wine and also the company… good.. ” AHHHH I DON’T EVEN WANNA THINK ABOUT IT. it makes me wanna crawl under my computer desk and hide until the end of time.

a lot of people have been asking me when exactly the “le coeur hoody” would be back in stock, and with the recession and everything, i thought it would be safer to just not order any more of them. but then, more and more people would ask about it, so i’m reconsidering the whole thing. and since summer is kinda coming soon, i think it would be a much better idea to make it a zipper hoody instead of a pullover. what do you think? i did ask the question on my twitter this morning, and most people said they preferred zipper hoodies, and the excuse that came up most often was “pullover hoodies mess up my hair when i put it on or take it off” so hilarious, but so true! so i think i’m going to order the zipper ones. i might change a few things on the design though, the heart will stay the same, but i might add something on the back. i have a few ideas. i have an appointment at the bank on saturday morning, so i’ll let you know pretty soon what’s going to happen with that! i might also order a few of the le coeur pour femme and homme if things go well.

and.. as i mentioned earlier, i’m not really done cleaning up my room yet and it’s already 9pm. my eyes feel tired. so i should go back to that!
